Fender Super Champ X2 Head Unboxing and Demo

I have been itching for a Fender tube amp for a while. Last week I opened for Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Everywhere you looked on stage all you saw were Fender amps. Once I saw the Fender Super Champ x2 I knew it was time to pull the trigger.

At less than $300 you can’t go wrong with the Super Champ x2 head. Obviously you’ll need a speaker cabinet for it. I’m using an Orange PPC112C 1×12 Speaker Cabinet and it makes practically every amp sound good. The Fender Super Champ x2 is no exception.

From the moment I plugged in and turned it on I knew I had made the right choice. The Super Champ X2 has the classic fender tube sound. Add my new Fender American Special Stratocaster to the picture and it’s a match made in heaven.

What I love about the Super Champ X2

  1. Sounds awesome
  2. Two channels
  3. Tube
  4. Programmable with Fender Fuse
  5. Built in effects
  6. Less than $300

Wishlist for the Fender SuperChamp X2

  1. Effects loop
  2. Standby switch
  3. Foot switch to change voices on 2nd channel

Bottom line is these are just wish list items and I can live without them. I’d really like a standby switch if I could have 1 extra feature. Not a big deal. This amp is the real deal and sounds fantastic and you will not be disappointed.
