How To Get Tom Scholz Guitar Sound With S-GEAR

Tom Scholz of Boston introduced a refreshing unique sound with Boston’s debut album. In the mid 1980’s he packaged up the tone into a line of handheld devices he called Rockman.

It was the huge Marshall overdrive with chorus and delay in a device the same size as a cassette tape walkman. Plug in your guitar, your headphones and get a smooth chorus stereo sound in your ears. Revolutionary.

Fast forward 30 years later and Scuffham Amps has included that same rockin’ tone as a default in their virtual guitar modeling software, S-GEAR, on preset 067: Rockman 2012.
