Today is experiment day.

In this video I wanted to see what kind of sound I’d get out of my Vox Pathfinder10 if I plugged it into my Marshall 4X12 cabinet.

The Vox Pathfinder10 is a combo amp that includes a small Vox speaker. It really doesn’t sound that bad by itself. It can get pretty loud on it’s own as well.

I bought a jack so that I could see what the Pathfinder10 sounded through my Marshall 4X12 cabinet.

You may be surprised. I was. Through the Marshall the Vox clean tones rang out crystal clear. The overdrive was not too shabby either. I was really impressed with the dynamics of the amp by just backing off the volume on my guitar.

Finally, I don’t remember hearing an amp this loud in such a small package before. Even at 50% it was super loud through the Marshall cabinet.

I paid $25 for my Vox Pathfinder10 on Craigslist.org. I also got my cabinet (Marshall MG412ACF MG Series 120-Watt 4×12-Inch Angled Guitar Extension Cabinet) for $125 the same way.

So, for me, I paid $150 and this combo could fill a big room easily.
